THE FAERIE COLONY LIVING IN STAFFORDVILLE CT
The faeries came to Staffordville with other Irish immigrants in the 1840's and 1850's to escape the great hunger and to work in the mills. They lived, undetected, next to a button mill factory until 1877 when the Staffordville reservoir flooded. The flood water unceremoniously transported the faeries to the safety of a hilly forest on a property that now belongs to Karen Bentley. If you're very quiet, the faeries may show themselves to you. PS, the correct spelling is faeries, not fairys.
